If you are participating in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on June 9th, 2019 here’s your chance to swim the course before race day and learn how to achieve your personal best!
We have two special course overview and swim days for Escape Tri competitors on June 7th and 8th

- Jump strategies
- Sighting and course details
- Current, wind and chop information
- How to land quickly and easily
- Get tips & tricks for swimming Alcatraz
- Ask questions along the way

NEW! Swim Alcatraz Friday Night…
How about a ‘REAL’ escape swim?
On Friday, June 7th and Tuesday, June 11th, we will re-trace the 1962 Alcatraz Escape by the Anglin Brothers — at night.
On June 11th, this swim will be on the 57th anniversay of their escape, with the same exact ebb current they had, and follow the same track the most likely did. The 9th is available for those in town for the Escape from Alctraz triathlon.
There is a lot of hype about this prison escape. Though the SF route Escape Swim is often swum, we don’t know of anyone who has swum the same escape route, with the same current, following the same course at night, except us. There’s a big difference in swimming the real Anglin escape route vs. the SF Escape route to St. Francis.
Be one of the few.
Space is limited! Skin and wetsuit swimmers are both welcome but homemade raincoat rafts are not. 😉
We expect to cover the route in about 90-minutes. It’s is not a difficult swim because we will ride the tide but we expect you to be an experienced swimmer who can swim the course front crawl (NOT BREASTSTROKE!) without stopping. Water temps should be about 60ºF/15ºC. We reserve the right to pickup and relocate slow swimmers for safety reasons.
We provide all lighting (cap and suit lights)
All swimmers will receive and a high-quality, heavyweight 100% silcone Alcatraz Swim Cap and commemorative Escape T-Shirt.
Join us. Cost is $195/pp
