Now Booking 2018 Swims
We are currently taking bookings for the 2018 Lake Tahoe swim season (July – September). We would love to pilot you or your relay team on one of the iconic Lake Tahoe Marathon Swims. With two large, well-appointed boats on the lake, and experienced pilots and crew, we bring the professional approach your swim deserves.
“Our business is for swimmers by swimmers. Our goal is for you to have nothing to think about but the swim.“
Marathon Swims (solo and relay)
- Length of Tahoe (21.3 miles / 34.27 km)
- Width of Tahoe (12 miles / 19.31 km)
- Vikingsholm Swim (10.5 miles / 16.89 km)
The above swims may also be “doubled” if a two-way attempt is desired.
Read Ranie Pearce’s inspirational Facebook post:
“I want to write something about my fabulous swim Saturday. Late last Thursday, the chance to swim the Length of Tahoe fell in my lap, and like the crazy person I am, I took it. I wasn’t properly prepared or rested, but I wanted to swim, so I did. I want to tell you about how amazing the support crew was…”
About the Lake
It’s stunning. It’s at altitude – 6,225 (1897 m) above sea level – which can give some swimmers a problem initially (sometimes a headache) but if you are well hydrated this tends to pass quickly. The water is about as blue as blue gets and crisp clean. We liken it to swimming in the middle of a blue star sapphire as Tahoe’s water clarity is some of the best in the world.
Routes and Start Times
Swim all three of Tahoe’s marathon swims and you’ll be part of an elite crowd and have earned our the Tahoe Triple Crown™.
- Trans-Tahoe Relay (Olympic Club) – July 21, 2018
We have three full-service boats available to escort your relay team on this classic Tahoe event. Optional package includes a tour of the course and leisurely acclimation swim the day before the big event. Reserve your boat early as demand is high given the race and peak summer tourist season.
