Alcatraz isn’t deadly. It’s doable—with the right mindset, solid prep, and real support.
We’ve guided around 1,000 swims across Northern California waters. Kara and Nate were two of the thousands of swimmers we’ve supported.
We come in around the 10-minute mark—skip back if you want to hear them work through it.
For the record, this wasn’t a typical swim. It was a commercial video shoot for their YouTube channel (4.2M subscribers)—complete with a film crew, private swim booking, custom training plan, prep swim, and in-water support from experienced angel swimmers. As of May 2025, it’s passed 4.1M views, making it one of their most-watched episodes.
Videos like this lean into drama, and that’s fine. That’s how YouTube works. The truth? They showed up somewhat prepared, but they were fit, determined, and had ideal conditions with a modest current. It definitely could’ve gone the other way, which is why we had Angel Swimmers at their side.
If you’re serious about taking on Alcatraz, we’re here to help. Know that it takes real planning, commitment, and respect for the water.
