We don’t sell tours. We run serious open water swims in serious water year round.

Pacific Open Water Swim Co. is operated by experienced open water swimmers and professional mariners. We plan swims the way they should be planned, around tides, currents, weather, and vessel traffic, not fixed schedules or marketing promises on fishing vessels or water taxis.

A gift certificate gives a swimmer access to professionally run, boat supported swims in one of the most complex bodies of water in the world. Routes are chosen for the day. Timing is deliberate. Decisions are made on the water. The goal is simple, safe execution and a swim that actually means something.

Whether the recipient is training for a triathlon, holding an English Channel slot, or preparing to swim Alcatraz correctly, this is experience, judgment, and seamanship applied to swimming.

Choose Your Swim

Gift certificates are available from $50 to $1,000 and may be used toward any professionally guided swim we offer. Swimmers choose the route that matches their experience, pace, schedule, and objectives.

The Alcatraz Escape
A 1.5 mile technical swim from Alcatraz Island to the San Francisco shoreline, we offer this course more than any organization and have more than 80 Alcatraz Escapes planned for 2026.

Golden Gate Bridge
A demanding swim beneath the Golden Gate Bridge across the Golden Gate Strait, timed precisely to slack water and coordinated with commercial vessel traffic.

Custom Bay Routes
Solo or group swims around Angel Island, Bridge to Bridge routes, marathon training, and other popular courses around the Bay.

Equipment and Add Ons
Certificates may also be applied to GPS tracking, professional photo packages, and select merchandise during registration.

Flexibility That Matters

San Francisco Bay runs on the tide, not the calendar, so if the timing of a particular swim doesn’t fit, don’t worry, our gift certificates never expire. Swimmers book when conditions, fitness, and timing line up. No forced dates. No artificial urgency. Just the right day, run properly.
